The IFAH-Europe Roundtable on the Review of the Veterinary Medicines and Medicated Feed Legislation took place in Brussels on 20 June 2013.
European Commissioner for Health and Consumers Tonio Borg, representatives of the former Irish and current Lithuanian presidencies to the EU and other stakeholders met to discuss the upcoming review of the veterinary medicines and medicated feed legislation.
A dinner was held the evening before the event at which MEP Paolo de Castro spoke about the revision of the Common Agricultural Policy and recognised the important role the animal health industry plays in Europe's agri-food sector.
Keynote speaker, Commissioner Borg opened the event, followed by a representative from the Irish Presidency to the EU who presented the Member State's views. The event then took the form of a debate in which IFAH-Europe topic leaders presented the main issues that manufacturers of veterinary medicinal products face with the current legislation.
