The International Federation of Animal Health in Europe (IFAH-Europe) Council has re-appointed Alejandro Bernal, Zoetis Executive Vice President and Area President, Europe, Africa and Middle East Region, as Chairman for a further two-year term.
Upon accepting the appointment for a second term Alejandro Bernal said, “I am honoured by the vote of confidence from the IFAH-Europe Council and take great pleasure in maintaining the position of IFAH-Europe Chairman. The imperative to develop new veterinary medicines has never been greater as is the need for innovation in the animal health industry to ensure a safe, sustainable food supply and to protect against infectious diseases that can pass between animals and humans.”
“During these past two years Alejandro has been an advocate for a more harmonised, robust and science-based regulatory process in Europe. I look forward to working alongside Alejandro in the upcoming review of the veterinary medicines and medicated feed legislative framework as we continue towards our goal to enhance the availability of innovative veterinary medicines to help safeguard animal health for the benefit of vets, farmers, pet owners and animals across all EU Member States”, said Declan O’Brien, IFAH-Europe Managing Director.
